Bissell Pet Foundation to Support Pet Adoption Event

In May, the Bissell Pet Foundation (BPF) will host the Empty the Shelters event, which is a reduced-fee adoption event facilitated at shelters across the country. Adopters pay anywhere between $0-$50 for adult dogs and cats, and BPF reimburses participating shelters $50/dog adopted and $20/cat 
adopted when all requirements are met. Eligible pets are sterilized, microchipped, and vaccinated as appropriate by age. By making adoption affordable for families and holding significant events with social media and press attention, we are sending the message that adoption is the best option for bringing a pet into a family.  Dates for the 2024 adoption event will be announced a few weeks before the start of each.  Follow Independence Animal Services on social media for the most up-to-date information on adoption events.
