Water Taps
Water taps are made by the City of Independence Water Department and only after the proper application and payments are made by the customer, or the customer's authorized agent, for the tap service. All applications shall be made at the Water Department office (Engineering Division) at 17221 E. 23rd Street S. Request for taps and meters must be filed in writing at least forty eight (48) hours in advance of need. As part of the proper application for a tap, the following items will be required.
- Lot number or description of property and survey
- Street name and house number
- Name of applicant and/or property owner
- Pay the applicable tap fee
