Filing a Claim
Individuals may file a claim against the City for personal injury and/or property damage. Municipal Court and criminal complaints are separate and not included in the claim process. City staff facilitates the claim process, which includes investigation and resolution of the claim.
Claims may be submitted by online, by mail, or in person.

Information to include:
- Description of incident (attach additional sheets, if necessary)
- Amount of claim
- Provide receipts or estimates to support the amount of damages claimed
- Any other information that will aid in the investigation of your claim, including photographs, police report numbers, witnesses, and names of City staff you have spoken to

Allow time for claim to be processed.
Claims processing takes an average of four to six weeks. You may supplement your supporting documentation at any time.
